Here is a A brief history of our last four Heisman Winners:
John Lattner is the only Heisman Trophy winner from Chicago. He established a record for all purpose yards which lasted until Vegas Ferguson broke it in 1979.
The “Golden Boy” Paul Hornung accounted for 1,337 yards of offense and more than half of the Irish scoring his senior year.
Huarte won Notre Dame’s sixth Heisman while leading the Irish to a turnaround 9-1 record in 1964. John Huarte was Ara Parseghain’s quarterback choice in 1964, his first season with the Irish.
Tim Brown was a phenomenal wide receiver, rusher and kick returner for the Irish. He left Notre Dame with the record in pass reception yards(2493).
